Is there a DroidDeck for iPhone or iPad?

Checked against DroidDeck 0.4.0 Updated 2026-10-15 Source: project README

No. DroidDeck is an Android app distributed as an APK, and there is no version for iPhone or iPad. Any website offering "DroidDeck for iOS" is fake.

Why DroidDeck is Android-only

DroidDeck is not a simple app that could be recompiled for another platform. It installs a full Linux runtime inside an Android app, runs Valve's ARM64 Steam client in it, and uses Valve's ARM64 Proton to run Windows games. To draw those games, it relies on graphics drivers for Qualcomm's Adreno GPUs, which is why the README limits support to Adreno 730 or newer, or Adreno 8xx.

iPhones and iPads use Apple-designed chips with Apple GPUs, not Adreno, so the core of what DroidDeck does would not carry over. iOS also does not let ordinary apps install and run a separate Linux environment with its own background processes the way Android does. Even on Android, DroidDeck needs a developer setting to stop the system from killing those processes. There is no equivalent switch on iOS.

The project has not announced any plans for iOS. Its README and every release so far describe Android only.

Watch out for fake "DroidDeck iOS" downloads

When an app gets popular, fake versions for other platforms follow: "iOS installers", configuration profiles, or pages that ask you to complete a survey before a download. None of them are DroidDeck. The project's only downloads are the Android APKs on its GitHub Releases page, and the README warns against download links on sites claiming to be the DroidDeck team. Never install a configuration profile or enter your Apple ID or Steam password on such a page. Our is DroidDeck safe page covers how to recognise these sites.

What iPhone and iPad owners can use instead

If you have an Android handheld or a recent Snapdragon phone as well, DroidDeck is worth trying there. Check whether it qualifies with the DroidDeck device checker, then follow the install guide.

Can I play my Steam library on iPhone some other way?

Yes, but not by running the games on the iPhone itself. Steam Link is the closest experience: you keep Steam running on a Windows, Mac or Linux computer at home, and the iPhone shows the picture and sends your controller input. It works best on a 5 GHz Wi-Fi network or with the PC on a wired connection. Cloud services do the same thing from a data centre, so they also work away from home, but only for the games each service supports.

What about an Android tablet or a Mac?

The same rule applies to Android tablets as to phones: they work if the chip has a supported Adreno GPU, which in practice means recent high-end Snapdragon tablets. DroidDeck does not run on macOS or Windows; on a PC, you would simply use Steam itself.

iOS questions

Is there a DroidDeck iOS app?

No. DroidDeck is an Android APK and the project has published no iOS build.

Will DroidDeck come to iPhone?

There is no announcement. DroidDeck is built around Android and Adreno GPUs, so an iPhone version would be a different project rather than a port.

A site offers DroidDeck for iOS. Is it real?

No. The project's only downloads are Android APKs on GitHub Releases. Treat any "DroidDeck iOS" download as a scam.
